Hi,

I am hoping someone will be able to help me i have recently installed
SCCM R2 and Wsus 3.1sp1 onto my windows 2008 x64 server.
I am unable to get updates to pass to my pc's (i have removed the old
gpo and replaced an older server) - I have tried the /reset option and
uninstalled and reinstalled both the sccm setiing and wsus (inc.
database). The system itself does not recognise any updates from march
this year in software updates. looking in the logs the only errors i
get to see are in the wsyncmgr

I don't know if this will help you, but here's what I would try:
-remove the Software Update Point role from your ConfigMgr site.
-Uninstall WSUS
-Reinstall WSUS per documentation for ConfigMgr usage (i.e., probably using
the alternate ports)
-readd the Software Update Point

Well, we could take it literally. You don't have to have *all* updates
checked on. In my extremely limited lab, I've turned off many
classifications and products.

If you go to Site Settings, Component Configuration, Software Update Point
Component, on the Classifications and on the Products tab, is everything
checked on? Or 90%? Perhaps uncheck some Classifications. I've heard that
sometimes the Drivers Classifications can be problematical in some
environments.

Right now (keeping in mind I don't remember what the defaults were, just
that I turned off some things in this lab), for Classifications I have
Definition Updates, ecurity Updates, Service Packs, Update Rollups, and
Updates checked on, the others off. for Products, I have the Office branch,
SQL Server branch, Forefront Client Security, Windows XP, Windows 7 Client,
Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Silverlight, ConfigMgr 2007, and Local
Publisher.

Perhaps try unchecking most things, monitor wsyncmgr.log, and if successful,
then slowly adding back in. Remember to re-sync between each change, and
monitor wsyncmgr.log.
